National Teachers' Award: President to honour India's exceptional educators
President to bestow 75 teachers with prestigious award
On National Teachers' Day, President Droupadi Murmu will confer the National Teachers' Award upon 75 teachers from across India. The award ceremony will be held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
Each recipient of the National Teachers' Award will be honored with a certificate of merit, a cash prize of Rs 50,000, and a silver medal. Moreover, the awardees will have the privilege of engaging in an interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Expanding the horizon of excellence
The scope of the National Teachers' Award has expanded this year to include teachers from the Department of Higher Education and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. A total of 50 school teachers, 13 educators from higher education, and 12 instructors affiliated with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will be honored.
Every year, on September 5, National Teachers' Day is observed to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The National Teachers' Award plays a crucial role in recognizing and appreciating the significant contributions of teachers who have not only improved the quality of education but have also positively impacted the lives of their students.The award selection process is overseen by three Independent National Juries, comprising eminent individuals, to ensure fairness and excellence in teacher recognition.
